One of the most desirable mid-size vans on the market, sixth-generation Transporter is now more refined and of a higher quality than ever before. Building upon the success of T5, sixth-generation T6 features new more fuel-efficient engines, safety enhancements, and further advances in cabin finish.
Lateral’s patented ‘Integra’ WAV conversion, with its unique counterbalanced three-stage ramp system, gives wheelchair users effortless access to this latest, greatest incarnation of the Transporter family.
Transporter is widely acclaimed as one of the most car-like LCVs to drive, with excellent ride and handling characteristics, and a very well appointed and ergonomically –sound driver environment. LWB models offer considerable carrying capacity, particularly high roof versions. Saloon access options include single or twin side sliding doors, and tailgate or twin rear doors.
T6 is available with four derivatives of a 2.0 turbo diesel powerplant, with 84, 102, 140 and 180bhp power outputs. New safety features include Electronic Brake Distribution (EBD), Traction Control System (TCS), and ‘Hill hold control’, which helps to keep vehicles from rolling –back when setting off from stationary on inclines. These are in addition to Electronic Stability Programme (ESP) and anti-lock brakes, previously standard on T5.
Mated to Lateral’s innovative Integra cam-operated pivoting floor system, T6 may be configured for a wide variety of wheelchair accessible applications. Integra offers a compact access solution with minimal intrusion from the rear door(s), and maintaining a flat floor for greatest versatility. In LWB form with Lateral Integra, T6 may be specified with three seats to row1, three to row2, and with two tip & fold seats to row3. Wheelchair occupants are safely and securely seated using Q’Straint floor anchorages and 3-point restraints.
